Empire Quilt Fest - My Guild Members' Entries

Martha Crockett's and we had to break both her arms and legs to get her to enter  - and she won a ribbon!

Emily Davis started coming to the house/classes about a year ago - a confident beginner.  She has really taken flight with expanding her skills and even designing.  The bat fabric - her card will explain.

Barbara  comes to sit and sew with us.  She's also my long armer.

Another of Barb's - decided to use up those cut offs after seeing my doll quilt and our guild's program on various techniques for geese blocks.

Joan Youman's Rainbow Hearts

Diane Warner's Log Cabin Houses - she also comes to the house/classes and there was a lot of help with her decision on the houses and those borders.

Kathy Livingston's Patriotic Sampler Runner - she comes here to sew, too.

Stephanie Liddle's Scrappy Quilt - another smiling face that comes to the house to stitch.

Marlene Laraway's 'Starburst' runner, Joan Youman's Hawaiian applique mini, and Sue Smith's scrappy small wallhanging.

Kathy Livingston's Bargello

I have to thank Steph for sending me a lot of these photos - a lot of mine were a blur or had a body in front of.

This was my first time for this show - joined the guild after the fact, then the next I had the broken hip and not doing much but healing.  Close to 200 quilts,  the large traveling exhibit, 27 vendors, two luncheon/lecture featured teachers, and the five host guild with table displays/sales/activities.  This is a bi-annual show, so if you are in the Clifton Park NY area in Spring of 2018 - put it on your calendar.

This is a good encouragement to everyone to support their local shows which are so important to spread the love of quilting and community. The local shows have the real quilts of heart and soul.
